Scope and accountability
This website is currently managed through Miles Murphy, the primary contact for the Watch Equity project. The legal operator and complete privacy framework for any future lending service will be identified and published before applications, identification records, watch photographs or transaction data are collected.
This notice does not claim that Watch Equity is legally bound by the Australian Privacy Principles in every circumstance. Privacy Act coverage depends on matters including turnover and the activities of the final operator. Regardless, the project aims to minimise collection and handle information responsibly.
Information collected by the current website
Technical delivery data
Website hosting and security systems may process an IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, timestamps, referral information and diagnostic or security logs. This is needed to deliver, protect and troubleshoot the site.
General enquiries
If you call, information you choose to provide may be used to answer the enquiry and keep a reasonable record of the conversation. The website has no public application form or upload facility. Please do not provide identity documents, bank details, detailed financial records, proof-of-ownership files or a complete watch serial number.
Information not intentionally collected
Watch Equity does not use this website to collect loan applications, identity verification data, watch custody records or transaction information during pre-launch.
Optional analytics and your consent
Google Analytics is designed to load only on the production website and only after you select “Allow analytics.” If you select “Necessary only,” the Google Analytics tag is not downloaded and no analytics request is sent by this implementation.
If allowed, Analytics may record a shortened or otherwise processed network identifier, device and browser characteristics, page paths, page titles, referral information, approximate region and limited interactions such as selecting a telephone link. Watch Equity does not intentionally send names, contact details, enquiry messages, full URLs containing personal information, watch serials, loan amounts, valuations or financial circumstances.
Your choice is stored in your browser so the site can remember it. Use “Privacy settings” in the footer to change that choice. Rejecting analytics does not disable necessary site functions.
Why information is used
- Deliver, secure and maintain the website.
- Respond to a general enquiry or expression of interest.
- Understand aggregate page usefulness when analytics consent is given.
- Investigate errors, misuse, accessibility issues or complaints.
- Meet a legal obligation or respond to a lawful request where applicable.
Submitting a general enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing. No automated lending decision is made through this website.
Service providers and overseas processing
Website hosting, content-delivery, telecommunications and security providers may process limited data needed to supply their services. If you allow analytics, Google processes analytics data under its own service terms and privacy controls. These providers may operate systems outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries where they or their subprocessors maintain infrastructure.
Watch Equity does not sell website visitor information. Information may be disclosed where reasonably necessary to a service provider, professional adviser or public authority, or where required or authorised by law.
Security and retention
Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used for the current website, but no internet service can be guaranteed completely secure. Avoid sharing sensitive material through an unsolicited message or telephone conversation.
Information is intended to be kept only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose collected, dispute handling, security, backup or legal requirements. Analytics event-level data is intended to use Google’s shortest standard retention setting. Provider security logs and backups follow the relevant provider’s operational schedules.
This retention approach will be reviewed before operational launch because Victorian identity and transaction record obligations may require different periods for future pawn transactions.
Access, correction and choices
You may ask what personal information is held about your direct enquiry, request correction of inaccurate information, or ask that information no longer needed be deleted where no legal or operational reason requires retention. A request may need to be verified before information is released or changed.
Privacy questions and complaints

If the Privacy Act applies to the relevant handling and the issue remains unresolved after a reasonable opportunity to respond, you may be able to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Changes to this notice
This notice will be updated before any application, identity, watch-image, CRM or transaction-data collection begins. The effective date and version at the top will change when a material revision is published.
