Watch assessment for lending · Melbourne

Luxury watch valuation in Melbourne.

Understand the factors that may influence a future lending assessment. Watch Equity is pre-launch and is not currently providing valuations, booking assessments or discussing final loan amounts.

Market price and lending value

An advertised price is only one reference point.

A retail price or online asking price is not necessarily what an individual watch could achieve in the current secondary market.

A lending assessment considers the actual watch, supporting evidence and its marketability. Brand, model, reference, originality, physical condition, service history, completeness and comparable demand all contribute to the picture.

What is examined

The watch, its history and its present market.

01

Identity

Brand, model, reference and serial information help establish exactly which watch is being considered.

02

Authenticity

The movement, case, dial, bracelet and other components require careful physical examination.

03

Condition

Wear, damage, polishing, alterations, servicing and replacement components can affect marketability.

04

Provenance

Purchase records, service history, warranty information and accessories may help support the watch’s history.

05

Demand

Current comparable demand and achievable market value are more useful than historic peaks or asking prices.

06

Completeness

Box, papers, cards, links and accessories may affect desirability, with a different impact for every reference.

Prepare for the first conversation

Helpful details to have ready.

During pre-launch, general information can help frame a conversation about the proposed service. It does not create an assessment booking.

Indicative estimate versus final assessment

Photographs cannot replace inspection.

After operational launch, remote information may support an indicative range, but it could not confirm authenticity, originality or condition. A final amount could only be considered after physical examination and required identity checks.

Any future discussion of an amount, dollar charges, loan period, custody arrangements and customer rights would follow operational launch and an eligible physical assessment. A customer would remain free to review the written information and decide whether to proceed.

Watch valuation questions

What the assessment does—and does not—mean.

01Can I receive a watch valuation online?

Watch Equity is not currently providing valuations. If the service launches, information and photographs may support an indicative lending estimate, subject to physical inspection and authentication.

02Is this an insurance valuation?

No. A lending assessment is not a formal independent valuation and is not a substitute for a replacement-value or insurance valuation.

03Which brands may be assessed?

The proposed focus is Rolex and other established luxury brands, including selected Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Omega, Cartier and Tudor watches. Any future assessment would be individual.

04Do box and papers increase a watch’s value?

They may support provenance, completeness and marketability, although their effect varies by watch. They do not guarantee eligibility or a particular amount.

05Does condition affect the assessment?

Yes. Wear, damage, originality, servicing and replacement components may all influence marketability and the amount considered.
